El crim\u00e9n pas\u00f3 a ser investigado desde el 2019 por la Comisi\u00f3n Interam\u00e9ricana de Derechos Humanos. Su muerte se sum\u00f3 al magnicidio pol\u00edtico contra el partido de la UP por su afinidad con el partido comunista y la estigmatizaci\u00f3n del mismo en la historia del pa\u00eds.
